The final round of the 2023 WNBA playoffs kicks off on Sunday with the New York Liberty squaring off against the Las Vegas Aces. It’s a best-of-five series for WNBA glory.

Oddsmakers listed the Aces as -200 betting odds favorites to win the series, with the Liberty opening at +165. The odds from DraftKings Sportsbook will change pending Game 1’s result.

Las Vegas will host Games 1 and 2, plus Game 5 if necessary.

Both teams were dominant during the regular season. The Aces sailed to a 34-6 record, while New York was second-best in the league at 32-8. The teams split their four meetings during the regular season, with the home team prevailing each time.

Las Vegas is the defending champion from last year. The Aces are seeking to become the first franchise since the 2001-2002 Lisa Leslie-led Los Angeles Sparks to win consecutive WNBA titles. The Liberty, who have never won the WNBA championship, lost to the Sparks in 2002 in what was the franchise’s most recent appearance on the league’s biggest stage.

Liberty vs. Aces Game 1

Las Vegas opened as a -205 moneyline favorite to win Game 1, while New York opened at +170.

The Over/Under on the point total opened at 172 (-110 on both sides). The Aces are favored by 5 points on the spread (-105) with the Liberty at +5 (-115).

For what it’s worth, the Under prevailed in three of their four regular-season meetings.

As for player prop bets, Las Vegas star A’ja Wilson is the favorite against the field to score the game’s first basket (+300).

Wilson, a power forward, is tied for the highest Over/Under for points in the game at 23.5 (-120/-110). Her rebounds line of Over/Under 10.5 (-110/-120) is the second-highest for the game.

Breanna Stewart, the star player for New York, also has an Over/Under points line of 23.5 for Game 1 (-120/-110). The power forward’s rebound line is 8.5 (-120/-110).

The Wilson-Stewart matchup is one to watch in the series. Both women are two-time WNBA MVPs and widely considered the best players in the game.
