Paul is 10-1 in his boxing career, with his lone loss coming to Tommy Fury in February 2023. Seven of his 10 victories have come via knockout, and his most recent win was a sixth-round TKO victory over Mike Perry in July 2024. He’s coming in with tons of momentum.

At age 27, Paul is in the prime of his career and should be in much better shape than Tyson, who’s more than half his age. Tyson hasn’t won a fight in over 20 years (Paul was six) and ended his career on a down note, losing three of his last four fights.

As long as Paul doesn’t make any glaring mistakes and avoids an early knockout, he should have the stamina to outlast Tyson. If Tyson doesn’t end this fight quickly with a big blow, he’ll likely wear down and run out of gas as the fight progresses.

Yes. While this may seem like a fever dream, it’s reality — at least for now. Fights are sometimes canceled due to injury or illness. At Tyson’s age, an injury is more likely.

The two are scheduled to fight at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Nov. 15. This will be Tyson’s first fight since he fought Roy Jones Jr. in November 2020 in an exhibition.

Tyson hasn’t fought in an official fight since he lost to Kevin McBride in 2005. He lost three of his last four fights before retiring. 

Netflix has helped build hype for the fight by airing three episodes of Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson (narrated by Ice-T) in the weeks leading up to the event.

Odds for the fight are available at licensed sportsbooks. 

As noted above, oddsmakers expect Paul to win. He’s listed as a -200 favorite at DraftKings, while Tyson is a +160 underdog. Paul has +150 odds to win by KO/TKO/DQ, while Tyson’s odds are +250.

The odds have been shifting in Tyson’s direction, however, as Paul opened as a -500 favorite. At DraftKings, 75% of moneyline bets have been on Tyson, reflecting a surprising amount of public confidence in the legendary boxer.

DraftKings has the Over/Under set at 6.5 total rounds, with the Over slightly favored (-120).

Paul vs. Tyson is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 15, 2024, and will air exclusively on Netflix.

The fight was originally scheduled for July 20, 2024, but was postponed after Tyson suffered a medical issue.

Ring walks have not yet been announced, but the event is scheduled to kick off at 8 p.m. ET.

Tickets for the fight are officially on sale and have a wide price range. The cheapest ones are selling for around $37, whereas the most expensive ones are going for thousands of dollars.

AT&T Stadium seats 80,000 fans, so there are plenty of tickets available.

Those ticket prices are higher than the last time Paul fought.

In August 2023, Paul fought former UFC star Nate Diaz at American Airlines Center in Dallas, with tickets going for as low as $60 in the upper section.

When Paul fought Tommy Fury in Saudi Arabia in February 2023, tickets cost between $64 and $333, according to Sportskeeda. In his last fight against Ryan Bourland in Miami, tickets were available for as low as $50. Prices maxed out at $1,473, according to The Sporting News.

While Tyson hasn’t fought in front of a crowd since 2005, he was one of the most expensive tickets in boxing during his heyday.

In 1988, a ringside seat to see his fight against Michael Spinks cost $1,500, which was unheard of at the time. Previously, the most expensive ringside seat was $1,000 at Roberto Durán vs. Sugar Ray Leonard in Louisiana in 1980. 

In Tyson’s fight against Clifford Etienne in 2003 (which proved to be his last professional win), tickets started at just $25.

Mike Tyson has a career record of 50-6 (44 KOs), one of the best in the sport’s history.

The “baddest man on the planet” became the youngest boxer to win a heavyweight title when he defeated Trevor Berbick on Nov. 22, 1986.

He was the sport’s undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990 and won his first 19 professional fights. He spent three years in jail for a rape conviction in the mid-1990s but regained his title, becoming the sixth man to regain a heavyweight title after losing it.

He sputtered at the end of his career, however, as he lost to Evander Holyfield twice in the late 90s (with the second defeat being the time Tyson bit his ear) before officially losing his title via knockout to Lennox Lewis in 2002.

As expected, this bout has been classified as a heavyweight fight. Tyson fought as a heavyweight for his entire career, while Paul has fought at cruiserweight (light heavyweight). 

Paul weighed 200 pounds in his last fight against Perry, while Tyson weighed 220.4 versus Roy Jones Jr. in 2020. 

Paul is taller than Tyson. He’s 6-foot-1 with a 76-inch reach. Tyson is 5-foot-10 with a 71-inch reach.

That might not be a problem for Tyson, as all but one of his opponents were taller than him. He managed to go 56-6 in his career.

What is truly of concern for Tyson is his age.

In 2022, video emerged of Tyson in a wheelchair and using a cane at Miami International Airport. Tyson said afterward that the incident was due to his sciatica, which he said can flare up so bad he “can’t even talk.”

The Mayo Clinic defines sciatica as pain “that travels along the path of the sciatic nerve.”

It often happens when a herniated disk or overgrown bones puts pressure on the spine. It can cause inflammation, pain and often numbness in the affected leg.

Later that summer, Tyson spoke on his podcast about his health.

“We’re all gonna die one day,” he said. “Then, when I look in the mirror, I see those little spots on my face, I say, ‘Wow. That means my expiration date is coming close, really soon.’”

Those incidents were brought back into the light on March 9 when Stephen A. Smith said he had talked with former UFC star Daniel Cormier, who said the last time he saw Tyson was when he walked into a UFC event using a cane.

We don’t know what’s happened in the past two years because Tyson hasn’t spoken much about his physical condition.

Jake Paul has fought 11 times, compiling a 10-1 record with seven KOs. 

His lone loss was to professional boxer Tommy Fury on points, while many of his wins have come against non-boxers—MMA stars or professional athletes from other sports.

His last fight came on July 20 when he defeated Mike Perry with a sixth-round TKO.

This will be the third live sporting event that Netflix has hosted and first boxing event.

Netflix’s first foray into live sports came in November 2023 when it hosted The Netflix Cup, which had the stars of Netflix’s Drive to Survive series facing off against the stars of Full Swing. 

In March, Netflix hosted The Netflix Slam, which was an exhibition tennis match between Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal.

Netflix has also hosted a variety of sports-related original content, including Untold series (which had an episode that focused on Paul) along with Last Chance U.
