A highly-anticipated fight is finally happening this summer between boxing legends Errol Spence Jr. and Terence “Bud” Crawford. They’re among the world’s best pound-for-pound boxers, and their meeting is enormously consequential for legacy.
The date for Spence vs. Crawford is July 29 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The eventual winner will be crowned undisputed welterweight (147 pounds) champion.
Who is Favored – Crawford or Spence?
As we head into the summer, we’re inching closer to this long overdue matchup, with boxing fans getting their credit cards ready to watch on Showtime pay-per-view.
Fans interested in betting on boxing can add another layer to the viewing experience. According to the betting odds, the fight’s outcome is a near coin flip. The gambling odds are subject to change as the fight approaches and can vary based on betting site.
Crawford and Spence were even at -112 for the moneyline at FanDuel Sportsbook, before the odds shifted slightly to favor Crawford. He moved to a -128 favorite, with Spence at +100. The odds change as the public wagers on either side of the fight.
Oddsmakers think there is a better chance of Crawford winning inside the distance. For a KO/TKO, Crawford is +360, while Spence is +550.
Spence has +180 odds to win on the scorecards, while Crawford is +185.
It would be hard to bet against Crawford’s sleek offensive style and greater activity in recent years. Spence has fought just twice since the fall of 2019. Still, the betting odds tell us that no one should be surprised by any outcome in the fight.
A draw has +1600 odds.
Crawford has more pro fights than Spence and fewer injuries over the past few years. Meanwhile, Spence’s injuries have passed, but bettors should be cautious regarding his past ailments. The stage appears set for Crawford to display his offensive extravaganza.

These boxers have experienced phenomenal success, with neither losing a professional fight. They fight out of a southpaw stance, but Crawford has an orthodox stance in his skill set.
Most recently, Spence took the former WBA World Welterweight Champion, Yordenis Ugás, 10 rounds. Winning by TKO, Spence took the WBA (Super), WBC and IBF welterweight titles.
Since debuting in late 2012, Spence has enjoyed a perfect 28-0 record, with 22 of the victories coming via knockout.
We last saw Crawford finish European welterweight and former WBA champion David Avanesyan after six rounds on Dec. 10, 2022.
Again, Crawford boasts an undefeated record of 39-0 with 30 KOs in that mix. Saying there is talent in both corners would be an understatement.
This fight will be the first bout during the summer months for both boxers since June 2018.

As mentioned, Spence entered the professional boxing world when he had a bout with Jonathan Garcia ending in a third-round KO.
The Long Island native is also known under the alias “The Truth.” An unfortunate truth is that Spence underwent surgery in August 2021 to repair a retinal detachment.
In December 2022, the legendary boxer broke his teeth after suffering multiple injuries in a head-on-vehicle collision. Doctors suggested it was the root of further eye problems.
However, Spence is back in complete fighting form.
Spence follows a common trend in the sport promoted by Premier Boxing Champions but has found more success than most, as he holds WBC, WBA and IBF welterweight titles.
Fighting southpaw, he has an impactful jab, proven repeatedly throughout his fights.
Spence is physically larger than Crawford, but this fight is far from a mismatch.
