Week 2 of the 2024-25 NFL season kicks off with an AFC East showdown on Thursday Night Football between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins, both of whom have legitimate Super Bowl aspirations after winning their season openers.
Both teams rallied from early deficits to win their Week 1 matchups at home. NFL MVP candidate Josh Allen led the Bills to a 34-28 victory over Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals, while the Dolphins edged the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-17 on Jason Sanders’ game-winning 52-yard field goal.
This primetime matchup features two electric offenses, putting the Over in play. It also makes this game a good one to target from a prop betting perspective, as stars like Allen, Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill could be poised for big nights.
Based on our research and recent trends, here are the best NFL prop bets to target for this game at our best NFL betting sites.
Best Week 2 TNF Props
- Josh Allen Anytime TD Scorer: Allen shredded the Cardinals for four touchdowns in Week 1 – two through the air and two on the ground. We only need one of the latter for this bet to cash, which is plenty doable for a mobile QB with 17 rushing TDs in his last 18 regular-season games.
- James Cook Over 59.5 Rushing Yards: Coming off a career-high 1,122 rushing yards last season (66.0 yards per game), Cook racked up 71 yards on 19 carries in Week 1. He should have plenty of room to run in Week 2 against a Dolphins defense that yielded 5.8 yards per carry last week.
- Tua Tagovailoa Over 249.5 Passing Yards: Tua lit up the Jaguars for a league-high 338 passing yards last week, picking up where he left off after leading the NFL in passing yards last year. He’s typically at his best in September, averaging 261.2 passing yards per game – his most of any month.
- Tyreek Hill Under 96.5 Receiving Yards: Hill is always a threat to pop off for 100 yards (he had 130 in Week 1), but the Bills do a good job containing him. He’s never had more than 82 receiving yards in any of his seven career regular-season games against Buffalo, making this a good spot to fade him.
- Jaylen Waddle Over 56.5 Receiving Yards: Waddle erupted for 109 receiving yards in the season opener, including 63 on one play. If Buffalo succeeds in slowing Hill down, Miami’s No. 2 receiver should be open.
- Josh Allen Over 0.5 Interceptions: As magnificent as Allen is, he’s also mistake-prone. He threw 18 picks in 17 games last year and will likely need to throw a lot to keep pace with Tua, increasing his chances of an interception.
