Ever since BetMGM unveiled its mobile sportsbook in 2020, it’s had Jamie Foxx as the face of its ad campaign – a testament to the prestige of MGM properties.
That star power will reach new heights in February, as the betting app released a teaser for its first-ever Super Bowl commercial, featuring Vince Vaughn, Tom Brady and Wayne Gretzky.
What Do We Know About the Commercial?
Yes, NFL legend Tom Brady will appear in a Super Bowl commercial for BetMGM Sportsbook, a legal and regulated betting app in the United States.
BetMGM announced the commercial at the end of January with a 30-second teaser trailer that features Vaughn and Brady talking, with Vaughn jokingly scooting Brady out of the frame.
While Gretzky wasn’t in the initial teaser, the company has said it will be a three-part teaser campaign, so he’ll likely make an appearance as we get closer to the Super Bowl.
Along with the commercial, BetMGM is also hosting multiple events in Las Vegas ahead of the Big Game, with the highlight being the BetMGM Big Game Bash at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas hosted by country music star Luke Combs.
Is Tom Brady in a Super Bowl Commercial?
After winning an NFL-record seven Super Bowls in his playing career, Brady retired last offseason and spent all of the 2023 NFL season sitting at home and (likely) screaming at the TV on Sundays because he thought he could do better than the quarterbacks he was watching.
Now, he’s dipping his toes into the sports betting space with this ad. Brady has been a pitchman for brands before, including Hulu (when he faked New England Patriots fans into thinking he was going elsewhere), UGG and Hertz.
He’s also set to join FOX’s broadcast booth for the 2024 NFL season, making this a natural stepping stone as he looks to build his brand away from the gridiron.

Ironically, this isn’t Brady’s first time being the face of a Super Bowl ad campaign. He was the focus of Intel’s ad about 360-degree replay during Super Bowl LI – the same year he led the Patriots back from a 28-3 deficit against the Atlanta Falcons.
He was also the face of FTX’s Super Bowl ad in 2022, which is something he might regret following the cryptocurrency brand’s collapse.
BetMGM Promo
While BetMGM hasn’t announced if they’ll be doing a special Super Bowl promotion this year, they’re currently offering a promotion where new users who register and deposit through BetMGM’s mobile app or website can claim “bonus bets.”
To claim the bonus, new users must deposit at least $10 and place a $5 wager in their BetMGM account. Once the bet settles, they’ll receive $158 in bonus bets whether it wins or loses.
Users seeking to claim this promotion can use the promo code FORBES158 and sign up through a BetMGM link or banner on this page. This code is not available for existing users.
To place a bet on the BetMGM mobile sportsbook, simply find a game or bet you like and tap on it. Once selected, you can view it in your betslip on the bottom of the app.
From there, you can either add another bet to your ticket (which makes it a parlay) or place it as a standalone wager (a straight bet). Once the bet settles, the $158 in bonus bets will be viewable in the account tab on your profile.
Super Bowl Wagers on BetMGM
There will be many bets available for the Super Bowl, ranging from more traditional wagers like the spread and Over/Under to novelty prop bets like the coin toss.
While a moneyline bet is a good place to start (since the only thing you need to worry about is your selected team winning), Super Bowl bettors will have plenty of selections to choose from, ranging from alternative spreads and totals to player props.
Player props are more volatile than result-based bets because your wager can be sunk if a player gets hurt or clears their Over in the first quarter.
