Win or lose, the 2-2 Green Bay Packers and 1-3 Las Vegas Raiders have been exciting teams to watch early in the 2023 NFL Schedule. Both teams are going through big transition periods under new quarterbacks Jordan Love and Jimmy Garoppolo.

Despite the similarities between the teams, their futures odds to win the Super Bowl aren’t in the same realm, with Green Bay at +5200 to Las Vegas’ +28000.

The primetime slot for this game is a fitting one, with the Raiders one game behind the Packers in terms of record. It will also be exciting to see Davante Adams (now with Las Vegas) face off against his old team.

There should be plenty of highlights on both sides of the ball in this evenly-matched contest.

Moneyline

This is a tough game to pick a winner, as both teams have shown the ability to stay in games and come back when needed. Ultimately, quarterback play is the decider, and Love has been more reliable thus far. That makes Green Bay the better play on the moneyline, especially at plus odds.

The Raiders are getting Garoppolo back from a concussion after he missed Week 3 against the Los Angeles Chargers. He already looked incredibly shaky with his new team before going down, throwing six picks over his first three games.

It doesn’t help that Las Vegas has offensive line issues, either, forcing Garoppolo to hurry his throws.

This game should be close, but it will come down to which quarterback protects the ball better, and that’s been Love (three interceptions).

Point Spread

With the spread only at 1.5 points, the Packers are still the best option here, as the team that wins the game will likely cover the spread as well.

Green Bay will be more rested after playing on Thursday in Week 4, giving the team a few extra days to recover and prepare for this matchup. Top receiver Christian Watson should also be good to go after playing on a snap count in his season debut last week.

Garoppolo and the Raiders have been too erratic to trust, even at home. Josh McDaniels has been a disaster since taking over last season, and that will be on display for all to see during primetime.

Over/Under Total

With the Over/Under set at 44.5 points, the Over looks more viable.

Love has been better than expected so far with eight passing touchdowns. With Watson now back in the fold and Romeo Doubs emerging as a legitimate weapon, the Packers have plenty of options through the air and on the ground.

Meanwhile, Las Vegas is getting its starting quarterback back. The Raiders also have some elite weapons in Adams and Josh Jacobs, who are among the best at their respective positions.

With so much firepower on both sides, this game should go Over.

Player Prop

The best prop bets for this game are for Adams (-110) and Watson (+220) to score anytime touchdowns.

Adams has been a touchdown machine throughout his career with 90 scores in 137 games. He’s led the NFL in two of the last three seasons, including last year, so he doesn’t seem to miss Aaron Rodgers too much. Adams already has three touchdowns in four games this year and 17 TDs in 21 games since joining Vegas, making him a good bet to score again.

Watson has also excelled at finding the end zone, which he did in his first game back in Week 4. He also nabbed seven TDs in 14 games as a rookie last year, so he’s already picked up where he left off.

Watson should see more snaps and targets in his second game back after getting a week and a half to recover, making him a good TD option this week at plus odds.
