The Kansas City Chiefs begin their quest for an unprecedented third straight Lombardi Trophy when they welcome the Baltimore Ravens to Arrowhead Stadium for the 2024 NFL season opener.
The Chiefs will return most of the same roster that won it all last year, including Patrick Mahomes and star tight end Travis Kelce. Meanwhile, the Ravens added some talent around reigning MVP Lamar Jackson after losing to Kansas City in the AFC Championship Game, most notably former Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry.
As the first game of the season, this game will have plenty of eyeballs and betting interest. It will be heavily featured at our favorite NFL betting sites, all of which have prop bets for this exciting matchup.
Let’s look at which Week 1 prop bets you should consider:
- Patrick Mahomes Over 266.5 Passing Yards: Mahomes has averaged 296.1 passing yards per game in his career, including 369.8 in four regular-season matchups with the Ravens. Look for him to come out firing in Week 1.
- Rashee Rice Over 60.5 Receiving Yards: Rice led all Chiefs wideouts in receiving yards as a rookie last year and should be even more comfortable with Mahomes in Year 2, especially with Kelce another year older.
- Derrick Henry Anytime Touchdown Scorer: King Henry has scored double-digit touchdowns in six straight seasons and is virtually unstoppable in goal-line situations.
- Lamar Jackson Under 217.5 Passing Yards: Kansas City allowed the fourth-fewest passing yards last year (176.5 per game) but ranked 18th in rushing yards allowed, so look for Baltimore to attack with Jackson and Henry on the ground.
- Patrick Mahomes Longest Completion Over 35.5 Yards (-115): We like Mahomes to clear this total as a way to kick off his NFL season with a bang. He’ll have to begin strong to keep pace with Jackson.
- Patrick Mahomes Over 20.5 Rushing Yards (-113): Mahomes has consistently been a threat on the ground in big games, and with the Ravens’ defensive line undergoing changes, this prop has potential.
Odds and lines will vary based on the NFL prop betting site. Betting on the NFL can cause problems for some players. Always gamble responsibly by setting a budget and understanding the vig.
