On Sept. 5, Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs open the NFL season with an AFC Championship rematch against the Baltimore Ravens in a game that’ll be filled with storylines.

Patrick Mahomes going against reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson. The Chiefs beginning their quest to defend their Super Bowl title. Derrick Henry breaking through tackles for a team other than the Titans. And, most importantly, Taylor Swift being in the stands supporting Travis Kelce.

Last year, Swift’s presence at Chiefs games became a talking point as her relationship with Kelce blossomed, so much so that betting interest on Kelce doubled last season ahead of her being shown 11 times during Super Bowl 58.

Ahead of this year’s season opener, FanDuel Sportsbook is offering a specialty prop bet focused just on whether Swift will be there for the Chiefs game against the Ravens, with Miss Americana being a near-lock to be in attendance.

The bet is as follows:

Will Taylor Swift attend the first Chiefs game of the 2024-25 season?

  • Yes: -650
  • No” +430

As you can see, Swift is a big favorite to be in attendance. If you bet on Swift to be there, you’d need to risk $650 to win $100. This is a novelty prop bet, which means it isn’t available at any of our favorite sportsbooks in the U.S.

Swift having such short odds to be at the game makes sense given her schedule.

Last season, Swift was still on The Eras tour, but she managed to attend 13 of the Chiefs’ 21 games. This year, Swift finished the European leg of The Eras tour on Aug. 20 and will take a two-month hiatus before the second leg of her North American schedule in Miami in October.

That dynamic is a shift from the summer when Kelce was able to appear at most of Swift’s concerts since he didn’t have to worry about football.

Previously, the only reason Swift missed one of Kelce’s games was due to a scheduling conflict with her tour. While that could impact her availability towards the end of the season (this leg of The Eras runs from Oct. 18 to Dec. 8), she shouldn’t have any major conflicts in September.

Last year’s Swiftmania around the Chiefs was another chapter in what’s been a busy 18 months for the 34-year-old music icon. Along with being named Time’s Person of the Year (she has +1300 odds to repeat this year), Swift also released The Tortured Poets Department, her 11th studio album that featured plenty of nods to Kelce in the lyrics.

Bottom line: You’d need to wager a lot on Swift’s presence to win a little, and we don’t really see a world where she isn’t in attendance. It’s a nationally televised game, and she has plenty of personal and professional reasons to be there.

Wagers like this remind us that football season is right around the corner.
