For football fans, every fall weekend is like Christmas. There’s nothing better than kicking back and watching college football all day on Saturday, then doing it all over again with the NFL on Sunday.
Autumn is also a great time to be a sports bettor, with every weekend offering countless betting opportunities on NCAAF and NFL games.

What Are College Football Props?
A college football prop bet is a wager on a specific outcome or event occurring within an NCAAF game. There are three main types of props available.
One is a game-specific prop, which has to do with the result of the game. This could be a wager on whether the game will go to overtime or whether the total number of points will be odd or even.
Another kind is a team-specific prop, which is a prop on one of the two teams in a matchup. This might be a wager on how many points one team will score or which team will score the first points of the game.
Lastly, there are player-specific prop bets. These are usually wagers on a player’s statistics for that game, like how many yards or touchdowns they’ll accrue. This can be a fun way to bet on your favorite player.
However, some states have limitations on the types of props you can wager on at college football betting sites. Some states prohibit prop betting on in-state schools specifically, while others don’t offer player props because they’re not professional athletes.
With so many categories for each player and team, one game can have hundreds of prop bets available if your state permits betting on college football props. The sheer volume can be overwhelming, so make sure to target only a handful of players or markets that seem like good plays based on your research or recent trends.
You can also combine multiple NCAAF prop bets into a parlay or same-game parlay, although these wagers are riskier and less likely to hit.

Here are the college prop guidelines in states with legal sports betting.
Arizona
Although Arizona bettors can place bets on college football game outcomes like moneylines and spreads, wagering on college props is prohibited. Live betting on college sports is also not allowed.
Arkansas
There are no restrictions on college football prop bets in Arkansas, as the state only prohibits betting on political elections and virtual sports. Accordingly, NCAAF props are legal for the state’s teams, including the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Colorado
Colorado has banned college player props across all sports, including football. However, it’s still possible to wager on game outcomes for college football.
Connecticut
Connecticut does not allow college player props. However, bettors can still place prop wagers on any college game not involving an in-state university.
Bettors can only wager on in-state teams when they play in an intercollegiate tournament like March Madness. So, while bettors can’t wager on UConn to beat Georgetown in February, they can still bet on the Huskies to win the NCAA Tournament.
Delaware
Unfortunately for Delaware residents, there is no betting allowed on in-state universities such as the University of Delaware. This applies to team betting and player props.
Bettors in Delaware can wager on NCAA player props for out-of-state teams, however.
Florida
Bettors in Florida can place college football prop bets on any collegiate match not involving an in-state university.
Illinois
Illinois doesn’t allow player prop betting on in-state universities such as the University of Illinois and Northwestern University. Additionally, you can only bet on in-state schools in person at a physical sportsbook.
Illinois offers markets on team and player prop markets for out-of-state schools. However, these markets are limited to pregame bets, so no live betting markets are offered.
Indiana
Bettors in Indiana can bet on college football props but with certain restrictions. College player props are only available pre-game, so it’s not possible to bet on college player props once a game has started.
Iowa
Iowa allows betting on in-state teams, but bettors can’t wager on college player props regardless of who’s playing.
Kansas
There are no restrictions on college sports betting in Kansas. All player prop markets are available to Kansas bettors.
Kentucky
There are no restrictions on college sports betting in Kentucky, so college football player props are fair game.
Louisiana
College prop bets are banned in Louisiana, but it’s still possible to wager on non-prop markets.
Maine
Bettors in Maine are not allowed to wager on college player props. They are also prohibited from wagering on in-state schools like the University of Maine.
Maryland
There are no prop restrictions for college sports betting in Maryland.
Massachusetts
Bettors in Massachusetts are prohibited from betting on in-state universities unless they’re competing in a tournament. Additionally, bettors aren’t allowed to place bets on college player props.
Michigan
There are no restrictions on college props in Michigan, so bettors are free to wager on players from in-state schools like Michigan State and Michigan.
Mississippi
Bettors in Mississippi are unable to place any bets on college football player props, but they can wager on in-state schools like Ole Miss.
Montana
Montana is a bit unique when it comes to sports betting. While NCAA player props are legal, it’s tough to bet on them.
Sports betting is legal in the state at any licensed lottery retailer, but mobile sports betting is only allowed through the state’s app (Sports Bet Montana) and can only be done while being located at a licensed lottery retailer.
Nebraska
Bettors in Nebraska aren’t able to wager on any college player props or in-state schools.
Nevada
Not surprisingly, Nevada has no restrictions on college sports betting.
New Hampshire
New Hampshire’s rules are a bit complex.
Bettors can’t wager on any in-state university or a collegiate event that takes place in the state. For example, if a March Madness game between North Carolina and Kentucky takes place at a neutral site in the state, you can’t wager on it.
That said, both college team and player props are available for wagering in the state for teams NOT based in New Hampshire. So if UNC and Kentucky play each other in a different state, you can place prop bets on it.
New Jersey
New Jersey bettors can wager on college team and player props so long as they don’t involve an in-state university.
Bettors in the Garden State can’t place bets on in-state universities regardless of the event’s location.
New Mexico
Bettors in New Mexico can bet on college player props, but betting on in-state teams is prohibited. Furthermore, sports betting is only legal at in-person sportsbooks in the state.
New York
College player prop bets aren’t available in New York. Additionally, bettors in New York can’t wager on in-state universities such as Syracuse University, regardless of where the game is played.
North Carolina
There are no restrictions on college sports betting in North Carolina, so bettors have free reign when it comes to college football props.
North Dakota
Bettors in North Dakota can bet on college football props.
Ohio
Ohio recently banned college player prop bets, but it’s still possible to bet on team and game props.
Oregon
Oregon is extremely restrictive when it comes to college sports wagering. There’s no online wagering allowed on any college sports markets, but some casinos allow betting on college sports.
Pennsylvania
College player props are not available in Pennsylvania, but other college betting markets are allowed.
Rhode Island
College sports betting is legal in Rhode Island, but bettors are prohibited from placing player prop bets on games involving in-state universities like Providence College or Brown University.
South Dakota
Bettors in South Dakota are prohibited from placing player prop bets on college sports, but game and team props are allowed. However, wagering on in-state teams or athletes is prohibited.
Tennessee
Tennessee doesn’t allow any college player prop markets. Additionally, bettors aren’t allowed to make live bets on college props, although wagering on in-state universities is allowed.
Vermont
Bettors in Vermont can’t wager on in-state college teams except during out-of-state tournaments like March Madness. Betting on college player props is also prohibited.
Virginia
Bettors in Virginia can’t wager on any college prop bets or on in-state universities.
Washington
While bettors in Washington can’t wager on in-state teams, they can place prop bets on college players from outside the state.
Washington, D.C.
If you’re in the District of Columbia, you’re unable to bet on college teams from the area or on any collegiate game taking place in the district. That said, you can bet on college player props for schools outside the area.
West Virginia
There are no restrictions for betting on college sports in West Virginia.
Wisconsin
While Wisconsin bettors can’t bet on the state’s college teams, they can bet on college player props from out-of-state universities.
Wyoming
There are no restrictions for betting on college sports in Wyoming.
