Our Verdict

Fanatics Sportsbook launched early in 2023, starting with a retail sportsbook in Maryland before expanding its online presence. Now available in 22 legal sports betting states (plus Washington, D.C.) and counting, Fanatics has emerged as a legitimate contender in the sports betting industry.

Given the quality of its app, it’s not hard to see why. Fanatics features a sleek, easy-to-use app with many betting markets. It also has a welcome offer for new users, daily odds boosts and perhaps the best rewards program in the industry.

Fanatics boasts an impressive user experience by tailoring its display based on your bet history, making it easier to find the sports and bet types you prefer. It also has a tracker that lets you monitor the status of your withdrawal whenever you pull money from your account.

Fanatics doesn’t have the unique features that made PointsBet popular, like Points Betting and the “Name A Bet” option, but it still has plenty to offer and is worth checking out.

Fanatics Signup Bonus

New users who sign up for Fanatics Sportsbook can get a no-sweat bet up to $100 each day for 10 days straight (up to $1,000 total) after registering.

After creating your account, you’ll receive a bonus bet equal to the amount of your first wager (up to $100) every day for 10 days if you place a $1+ wager with minimum -500 odds and it loses.

So if you place a $20 wager and it loses, you’ll receive a $20 bonus bet. If you wager $50 the next day and it loses, your bonus bet will be $50.

This is an unusual and somewhat inconvenient welcome offer, as most new user promos require only one bet to trigger the bonus. However, it does pay off if you remember to opt in and wager every day.

Fanatics has a different offer for users in New York, where new customers can get $50 in bonus bets when they wager $5+ (min. -500 odds) after signing up, win or lose.

Both offers are available to new users through Dec. 31, 2024. No promo code is required for either.

Live Streaming
Many sportsbooks now offer live streaming for select sporting events, including Fanatics. While live streaming is not available for every sport or match, it can be a fun way to keep up with the action and track your bets.

Early Cash Out
Like many sportsbooks, Fanatics gives you the option to cash out a wager either before the event starts or once it’s in progress. This allows you to potentially guarantee some winnings or limit your losses depending on how your bet is going.

Tailored Home Page
With its “For You” section on the home page, Fanatics customizes its home page based on your betting habits and favorite sports.

Rewards Program
Fanatics boasts an exceptional rewards program that gives bettors a percentage of every bet in FanCash. FanCash can then be converted into bonus bets at the sportsbook or site credit to use at Fanatics’ retail site.

Quick Deposits and Withdrawals
Depositing and withdrawing money at Fanatics is quick and easy, as the site offers several convenient ways to easily move your money into and out of your account.

Quick Bet Grading
Fanatics grades bets quickly compared to other betting sites, allowing you to quickly cash out your winnings or wager them on something else.

Fanatics App Review

  • App Store Rating: 4.7 Stars, 38K ratings
  • Google Play Store Rating: 4.7 Stars, 9K ratings

Fanatics is one of the newest sportsbooks on the market, launching in 2023 after rebranding from PointsBet. Accordingly, it doesn’t have as many reviews as some of its more established competitors.

That said, Fanatics’ early ratings are largely positive. Customers were fond of the rewards system, which provides FanCash for every bet that can either be used for bonus bets at the sportsbook or site credit on Fanatics’ retail website, which helps the sportsbook stand out.

On the other hand, some users weren’t high on the app itself, specifically the home page layout. Other users complained of glitches and slower load times compared to other sports betting apps.

As a newer app, Fanatics may still be working out the kinks.

Is Fanatics Sportsbook Legal?

Yes, it is legitimate and legal. Fanatics Sportsbook is backed by Fanatics Inc., a $31 billion sports company that also produces sports jerseys, trading cards and hats.

Fanatics paid $225 million to acquire PointsBet, so it is invested in its sportsbook and providing a top user experience to customers.

How Does Fanatics Sportsbook Work?

Fanatics Sportsbook offers lines for betting markets in a variety of sports across the world.

After signing up for an account and making a real-money deposit, which will require you to verify your identity and be physically present in a regulated sports betting state where Fanatics Sportsbook is operational, you can bet on any available markets.

Registering with Fanatics Sportsbook typically takes a couple of minutes.

Fanatics Sportsbook Odds

Before betting at Fanatics Sportsbook, you should know how to read the lines.

Fanatics Sportsbook lists American odds for its betting markets. That means every line is based on a $100 bet, and your potential profit depends on the odds.

The favorite will have a minus (-) sign before the number on its odds. For example, you’d need to wager $160 on a -160 team to win $100.

Meanwhile, the underdog will have a plus (+) sign in front of its odds. If you risk $100 on a +160 underdog, you stand to win $160.

You should also know the different betting types available. Fanatics Sportsbook offers a range of betting markets, including spread, moneyline, totals (Over/Under) and futures markets.

Third, you need to know the deposit and withdrawal options. After making a real-money deposit, your funds will appear in your account wallet, accessible in the top right corner of the app. This shows how much money you have available to wager. You can also view your rewards, such as FanCash and bonus bets.

You can withdraw money from your account anytime using one of Fanatics Sportsbook’s withdrawal methods. However, you can’t withdraw bonus bets, FanCash or other forms of site credit.

Bet Types

There are plenty of different types of bets offered by Fanatics Sportsbook, also known as markets. These bet types are available for most sports.

Spread

A spread bet, also known as a run line in baseball and a puck line in hockey, is a common type of bet available at Fanatics. It involves wagering on a team’s margin of defeat or victory.

If you bet a favorite, that team will have a “-” sign before the number. The team must win by more than that number of points, goals or runs for the bet to cash.

Conversely, if you bet an underdog, that team will have a “+” sign in front of the number. The team must either win the game outright or lose by less than that number for the bet to cash.

For example, if a team is favored by 6.5 points (-6.5 spread) in a college basketball team, it must win by seven points to cover. If it’s listed as a 6.5-point underdog (+6.5 spread), it must either win the game or lose by fewer than seven points.

If the team wins or loses by the same number as the spread, the bet is graded as a “push” and your stake is refunded.

Moneyline

A moneyline is a simple bet on a team to win the game outright, regardless of the margin of victory.

If you bet on the favorite, you must risk more money to win less on the moneyline (ML) due to minus odds. If you back the underdog, you can bet less money to win more at plus odds.

In sports like soccer, which can end in a draw/tie, there is a three-way moneyline with the option to bet on a tie.

Totals

A total bet, often called an Over/Under, is a bet on the total number of combined points scored by both teams in a game. A bet on the Over means the combined score needs to be over the number shown for the bet to cash, while the opposite is true for the Under.

For example, say the Over/Under for an NHL game is 5.5 goals. If both teams combine to score at least six goals, the Over hits. If they score fewer than six goals, the Under hits.

Like a spread bet, if the final combined score equals the betting total, the bet is deemed a “push” and your bet would be refunded.

Props

Prop bets are wagers on specific outcomes happening within a game. They are typically divided into game props and player props.

Game props are wagers on a particular event happening within a game. For example, you can wager on how many points a team will score in the second half of a game or if overtime will occur.

Player props are wagers on a player’s performance. For example, you can bet on a wide receiver to go over or under his receiving yards total in a game or a baseball pitcher to finish with a certain number of strikeouts.

Parlays

A parlay is a wager that combines two or more individual wagers into one bet.

To cash your parlay, every bet in the parlay (called a “leg”) needs to win. By tying multiple wagers together, parlays are riskier than straight bets and include higher odds to reflect that, increasing the potential payout.

A same-game parlay is a type of parlay that combines multiple bets from the same game. It is possible to combine game props with player props and full-game outcomes to boost your odds for a single game.

However, it is not possible to combine some bets in a single-game parlay. For example, you can’t have two legs be for a quarterback to throw for 200-plus passing yards and 225-plus passing yards because those bets overlap.

Live Betting

Live bets are wagers made on a game after it starts. Fanatics Sportsbook updates its markets and odds for most matchups once the game is underway, so you can still bet on a contest even if you don’t submit a wager before it starts.

Futures

Futures bets are bets on outcomes occurring in the relatively distant future. The most common type of futures bet is a wager on a league championship, such as betting on a team to win the Super Bowl or NBA Finals ahead of time.

You can also place futures wagers on individual player awards and outcomes, such as a season’s Most Valuable Player or a league leader in a statistical category like rushing touchdowns or stolen bases.

Payment Methods

Having safe and secure payment methods is a main benefit of using a regulated sportsbook like Fanatics compared to offshore sportsbooks.

Since Fanatics is a legally licensed operator, major financial institutions allow transactions directly with its online sportsbook.

There are several ways you can deposit money into your Fanatics Sportsbook account:

There are a few ways to connect with them.

To access customer support, go to your account in the top right corner of the app. At the top right, there is a “Chat with support” option. This is Fanatics’ live chat feature that is available 24/7.

If you scroll down in your account, there is a “Help Center” that’s essentially a FAQ section. This has pre-written guides that may help provide detailed answers to your questions.

If you scroll all the way down to the bottom, there is another link to the chat function.
